creative direction & brand design

CROSS-PLATFORM

As Creative Director of Real Simple I oversaw the visual branding of all cross-platform projects, such as the brand’s $5M+ tentpole: The 2025 Real Simple Home, which featured a NYC-based penthouse and 2-bedroom apartment and cover star Drew Barrymore. Working closely with UX and video teams, we animated online pages that come to life with colorful graphics and type as well as implemented a scrolling Meet the Designers panel and shoppable rooms. The color palette was inspired by selected wallpaper and paints used throughout the home. I directed the 3-day photo shoot and production team, creating assets used throughout the site as well as on the back cover of the print issue and 18-page feature article.

The Best & Brightest Issue: I directed visuals for Real Simple’s digital Pinterest collaboration featuring an interview, photo shoot and multiple video assets with Busy Philipps, paired with an online shopping guide. The color palette and typographic approach maintained consistency with the brand’s print extension and overall visual identity.

The Real Simple Game Changers Issue, a cross-platform custom issue starring Kristen Bell, who was the first-ever celebrity featured by the brand. I oversaw the creative direction for video and photo shoot assets, design and post-production. The result: a cohesive online and in-book experience that increased audience engagement.

Rachael Ray EveryDay’s annual tentpole campaign profiled women in food, such as Nyesha Arrington, Anita Jaisinghani, Angie Mar, and Daniela Soto-Innes, with online video and a dedicated print issue theme. Creating a consistent neutral color palette for the video and photo shoot and incorporating illustration in the print issue feature story made the perfect backdrop as a cohesive marketing tool to sell to advertisers.
